Lord's Acre

Lord’s Acre is a tradition in “The Southern Methodist Church in rural areas.” The name” Lord’s Acre” refers to farmers donating an acre of their land to the Lord. It is a celebration of the fall season and all of the bounty the Lord provides. It is also an opportunity for us to raise money for the mission and ministry of Ovilla United Methodist Church.

Lord’s Acre begins before the first weekend in November with a variety of events and will be held on the future site of OUMC, located at Ovilla Road (FM 664) and Westmoreland Road. There will be a golf tournament and fun run in the month preceding Lord’s Acre. On Friday, November 2nd of the Lord’s Acre weekend there will be a dinner and music. On Saturday, November 3rd (Lord’s Acre Day) we will have our fall festival with a live and silent auction, a bake sale, a country store, a children’s area and lots of vendors, food and fun. On Sunday morning, November 4th we will meet under the tent to praise & worship the Lord for our Sunday morning service.

Please watch the website for more details as the date draws near.
